Ozone mixing is key to spa water disinfection….ain’t that the truth. However, it is not enough to just introduce ozone to the water. Since hot tubs are not drained after each use, and because they’re really, really hot, it is necessary to disinfect the water to keep it safe, clean, and luxurious. To do this correctly, and efficiently, ozone must be thoroughly dissolved in the water with an injector (Mazzei preferably), together with a little chlorine and bromine to get the best results.
In Jim Laurie’s article, “Ozone Mixing is Key to Water Disinfection, in this month’s Aqua Magazine, you’ll get more than an education, you’ll get the facts…..”The key to an effective sanitizing system is a multistage approach; ensure that disinfection is preceded by ozonation, then make sure the ozone is produced reliably and effectively to achieve its full disinfection potential”.
Partly due to their high water temperatures, hot tubs can pose particular health risks if not regularly maintained.
